What is Microdermabrasion?

Our clinical grade, vacum microdermabrasion treatment can improve a wide range of skin problems and give you immediate visable results by restoring your skins natural luminosity.

Clinical Microdermabrasion is a deep exfoliation technique for removing the top most layer of skin, leaving it more supple, vibrant, fresh and rejuvenated. The treatment removes this layer by gently exfoliating the skin with natural crystals, while vacuuming the exfoliated skin cells away in a controlled manner. Removing this outer layer leaves a smoother texture and promotes the growth of healthy new skin cells.

Clinical microdermabrasion also stimulates the vascular circulation to the surface of the skin, stimulating collagen production and resulting in a healthier and firmer appearance improving fine lines and wrinkles. After this treatment your skin will feel the cleanest its ever felt!

The treatment can be performed on the face, neck, chest, hands, back, legs, elbows, and feet. It also can be used in conjunction with other treatments to intensify your results.

This treatment is non-invasive, pain free and requires no down time. To achieve maximum results, several treatments are recommended for a healthier, younger looking skin.

Key Benefits:

  • A single Microdermabrasion treatment can remove up to three times the number of dead skin cells in a single session than other exfoliating treatments.

  • Microdermabrasion encourages cell renewal, which means your skin will benefit from improved elasticity, a smoother texture and reduced signs of ageing.- Your skin glows as the light bounces off the skin and not the fine hairs

  • Microdermabrasion is suitable for all skin types, and therapists will assess your skin before advising on the number of treatments you will need.

  • Unlike many skin rejuvenation treatments, microdermabrasion is non-invasive, so requires zero recovery time. It is often referred to as the ‘lunchtime facial’ because of the convenience and effectiveness.- Make-up glides on effortlessly for a flawless finish.

  • The treatment settings are widely adjustable; meaning therapists are able to tailor the treatment to individual skin types and problems.

Is microdermabrasion safe for all skin types?

  • Yes, microdermabrasion can be used for all skin types on all areas of the body and face.

How often should I have a microdermabrasion treatment?

  • Treatments are usually performed every 7 to 10 days but your Beauty Boutique therapist will confirm this with you.

Are there any side effects to the treatment?

  • After the treatment, the skin may feel tight with mild redness. Therefore it is important that you use a good moisturiser. These effects normally subside within 36 hours of treatment.

I have suffered from reactions to other facials, will this be the same with Microderm Facial?

  • Crystal microdermabrasion uses a sterile compound with zero risks of an allergic reaction. Your Beauty  Boutique therapist will provide a patch test on the back of your forearm for added reassurance.

How many treatments should I have?

  • SkinBase recommends a course of 8, however, your Beauty  Boutique will talk this through with you following your initial consultation. People with acne or acne scarring might need more treatments and we recommend a monthly maintenance treatment after each course has finished helping maintain the results achieved.
